    Re: Pacific Ocean Park

I remember both POP and Marineland, went there when I was a kid, but only went a couple of times. I don't know where they were located.

Then that should put me at the right age to only know Pacific Park as being at Santa Monica Pier with the ferris wheel

You are Mark's age. No wonder you remember POP. My Rick doesn't remember it either.

I do remember Marineland and Orca the killer whale

you had to be very young joey as marineland has been gone for over 20 years.

POP was started in the late 1800s and survived until 1976. Pacific Park first opened in 1996.

Not to age myself but I use to drive by the Kiddie Park every day when I worked for E L Payne doing HVAC. Our main office was right at Beverly and Santa Monica. Heck I may have even worked at your house as we had the entire area tied up. One of my fondest memories was when our service manager caught 30 of our trucks parked at Farmers Market having coffee and donuts one morning.

Our buddy Steve worked at Kiddie Park as a kid. We use to stroll the neighborhood when the horses got out to look for them I grew up at the Farmer's Market. Bob's donuts are the best! I still get my meat and chicken from the butcher there.

I have not been there since the late 80s but I use to like the corn beef and cabbage then a bag of Ultimate Cashews.

I don't know where you got the corned beef and cabbage, but the ultimate nut place is still there.

I believe it was at Magee's and then we would take it upstairs to eat.

The video was great to watch, I never been there. But I sure remember dressing like the kids in the video, clean hair cuts, buttoned up shirts. Kind of nice to see a film at a place like that, thats doesn't show kids wearing their pants at their knees. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent, I am starting to get a feel for where the next gathering of the West Coast Titans should be held.
