  • Lost drain plug on shop vac? Where to get another one

I found out today how worthless a shop vac is if you don't have that drain plug on the bottom. I called lowes and home depot and they don't have it. Does anyone else know where I could pick one up locally in Austin tx or is there a way I can make one?

    Any help would be great.

Duck Tape, a cork (if you can find right size) as NH said a rag, or real extreme you could put a piece of flat metal over it and screw and caulk it too death.

Or you might try the manufacturer and see if you could get one from them.

You should be able to find one of those boiler plugs that expand as you crank them down. Just be sure not to over tighten and damage the vac.
