Re: Water Heater pilot cover (door)
See, how can we ever help anyone. A guy simply asks about a water heater cover plate and the conversation turns obscene. Back to your heater door, I would recommend just making an internal plate, leaving about 1" gap around the gas lines to allow air to enter. Make your exterior plate bow out in the middle around the gas lines so that it has slight curvature throughout. This should allow plenty of air, as most heaters have holes in the bottom that they draw combustion air in from also.

I love it, I only wish I could see Rick's face when his bubble bursts.

When I talked to Rick last night I was teasing him when I told him I had made the post as I was not tracking the post count. Later while talking to Joey I told her to tell Rick I had rechecked the stats and I had hit 150,000 and not him. All of a sudden you could hear Rick going off like a mad man. Joey and I had a good chuckle then called it a night.

If there is one thing I've learned being around Rick is he is always full of excitement.
