    Re: The Messiah is coming

The problem with Obama is he has elusive answers without any specifics. But I think people are gonna close their eyes and jump hoping for the best.

Duck, I do think McCain's wife had already shacked up with someone else by the time he got home from war. Don't forget he was a POW. She could have been told that he was dead or never coming back. He has had extensive plastic surgery as a result of the horrible beatings he took.

I think most of our presidents have had women on the side. Some just covered it up better than others

I like Obama too, but I don't think he is what we need running our country, or choosing our judges. The issue that needs to be addressed in this election is not the economy, fuel prices, global warming, or anything else that the Democrats can dream up is a problem. I think fuel prices are right where they should be. It is about time these big oil companies started making some money. If the economy will support it, why not. We are always talking about how to maximize profits, so should they. I think the main issue is our presence in the world as a force to be reckoned with. If we pull out of Iraq like a bunch of defeated wimps they will be riding their camels up and down our streets, dressing our women in burkas, and giving us prayer rugs.
Distractions are everywhere, don't lose sight of your dream.

        Fancy imagination, hardly reality.

Pullllease don't take this the wrong way, but...
If seeming to have genuine well-meaning intentions were the standard, my ten year old would win the office by a landslide.

Obama says good things, talks about great ideals, but I just don't see them as anything more than the usual over-simplified breakdowns to complex problems that most candidates ramble on about. ("read my lips...no new taxes")

          This country's an absolute mess.
McCain has more experience, proven integrity and most of all...he has RESOLVE to do things that need to be done but may not make him popular.

Again, Obama seems like a nice potential president...I say let him proove his worthiness for a few years and give it another try on the next election.
McCain has proven himself worthy of the position tenfold.

What are his qualifications Carl. Do we really have to go through this again? Being a community activist in Illinois does not qualify you for the toughest most important job in the world. This guy is all about change you can believe in......He keeps changing his stances and he hopes we keep believing.

                  Re: The Messiah is coming

O'Bama is not good for America. He's a flashy speaker, and that's all. He does what his party TELLS him to do, and says it in a way he knows the American audience wants to hear it. I don't want an advertising firm as President. I want a President who can actually DO things and understands the ramifications of what he says and does. O'Bama is NOT that person.

I at one time considered becoming an involved, active citizen in O'Bama's campaign. Then I started to really study him and his words. I find what he says to be captivating and energizing, but completely lacking in any real information or substance. His manner of speaking is very good. It's a veneer of pretty over a gelatinous substance without any real focus. At least, I really can't get any true picture of who he is.

Real story. A friend of mine, while trying to work out getting his step-son's immigration problems worked out, had an appointment with several senators and congressmen over a period of a couple months. Each one would generally have an Aide meet with my friend and the group of people with him. All of them at least gave the group the time to speak and the respective legislator would generally respond in a week or so. All except for Barack O'Bama who merely told the group, in the hallway, "You have nothing to offer me, I don't have time for you." In other words, because this group of citizens had nothing to offer O'Bama politically, he had no time to hear their REAL problems. That's what really turned the light on for me. I now see O'Bama in the real light instead of the limelight he surrounds himself with.

Say what you will, but McCain has far more experience and actually (I believe) understands what the President of the United States of America has to do. For this election, I will vote with my brain and stick with McCain.
I put it all back together better than before. There\'s lots of leftover parts.

                    Re: The Messiah is coming

You all missed the point. Obama doesn't have to say anything at all. He doesn't have to be specific. He doesn't have to have a concrete plan. He doesn't have to debate policy with McCain either. All he has to do is show up, smile and keep repeating the "change" mantra" Then sit back and let the press do all the campaigning for him. Remember, this is a press that constantly reminds us that George Bush has a 29% approval rating, the worst in history I guess. But they never mention the Democrat Congress approval rating which at last count was like 11% I believe.

That being said; I and my wallet are really rooting for John McCain. With inflation already chipping away at purchasing power, I don't want a Barrack Obama imposed paycut in the form of tax increases.

When McCain got back to the states from the war, he dumped his first wife because she became disfigured from a car accident. His first wife was a model. Before he dumped her, he was running around with a group of guys and tried to nail all the women out there, that group had a name, it was "Bad Boys". When he eventually found his current wife, that is when he settled down, because she had the money and her money paid for Johns first wife alimony and living expenses, medical bills, etc.

When the first wife had her car accident, Texas Billionaire Ross Perot took care of her medical expenses since John was a POW and could do nothing for her. She also kept her car accident and disfigurement a secret from him while he was a POW and until he saw her again.

Everybody has flaws and good character in them, I do not like either candidates and I would like to see some new ones instead. Which will never happen because of old school politics, which I'm dead set against.

Now if majority of the people feel the same and we were to scream and yell for new candidates, you think we would get our way. I don't, thats just the way our old school politics are run, by greedy hands and I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine and blackmailing....

Freedom to vote for people that you dislike, wow what can I say at this point. I am a true full blooded American, which I'm starting to hate our politics. But McCain served his country and stood by his fellow POW's, in which gets my respect for life and my vote. "Obama" Bin Laden, well he could be a sleeper and getting ready to drive us into the ground....

If Obama wins, I'm going back to smoking and I may never vote again, because he is a Muslim. The man can't wear an American Flag Button, or say our National Pledge. Well screw him, he's not an American, not at all.....

I was not paid by the Republican party to give my opinion about Obama, I am not affiliated with the Democratic party either.....

I am still on the fence this election. But the more I hear I am leaning towards Obama like service guy is.
I actually voted for McCain 8 years ago when he was running against G W in the primaries and would have voted foe him again if he was still the candidate that didnt follow the party lines.
But the fact is he is not the second comming of Christ but the return of G W Bush. He is campainging along party lines instead of being the Maverick he used to be.
Those of you in the forum who are Knocking Obama and yet say that the country is in the worse shape it has ever been in with unemployeement, Forclosures, Inflation , world affairs, Illegal imagrants , ect... at a all time high. Yet you would vote for the guy that has the same political beliefs as the current administration. That just baffles the hell out of me.
And as for Devines comment about its about time the big oil companies started making money !!!! Are you actually Insane ??? Hell the Beverly Hillbillies struck it rich years ago with oil and you think the oil companies are just now making a profit.
Some coments people make really give me a huge laugh.

Where are the facts that support this statement? Do you recall the 80's, Jimmy Carter?
This is mostly press propaganda. None of the above are anywhere near all time high's. Over 1000 bankd failed in the 80's, Unemployment was 13% Inflation was close to 20%. Compared to the 80's, forclosures are not even on the same page, let alone at an all time high. You really have to get your news from someplace other than NBC, ABC, or CBS.
Now as for your vote for Obama. Can you tell me ONE thing that Mr. Obama has accomplished in twenty plus years of public service? And finally, would you please check his voting record for the entire time he has been in congress. If you do that, and still can't see that this guy is a socialist then I'll pay for your eye exam.

Here's a fun little excercise. Do a little recearch on economic trends and conditions over the past 100 years. Note how the economy fluctuates up and down. Note how many years between administrations these fluctuations occur and note the price of energy's effect on the cycles. Then place the blame where ever you like.
