Drop a 16' x 2"x10" on it and see if you still like those bars....

Accidents do occur out on the jobsites, a little protection is better than none....

I know with some of the larger GC outfit's, they don't allow them because it lowers their insurance premium, these same companies require a hardhat and safety glasses be worn at all times etc.

            Wait! Let me guess!

If you had a radio on the job site the young kids would be lazy and talk about the UFC, all while trying to get a Libertarian candidate secretly elected.

I have never heard that playing a radio on the job increases insurance premiums?

How many arguments have you seen on site between the 6 different subs, all with radio's, all turned up to 11 and all on a different station?

Besides at least one of them will be tuned to the "my wife left me and the dog done died and they reposessed my trailer", station.

It is more to a total safety program than specific to a radio, radios are considered a distraction, and they can prevent people from hearing a call for help or the sound of someone falling. if you have never worked on a large jobsite like a new high rise you probably will never grasp what I am saying. I have worked on many jobs where weekly safety meetings were required and fines were given out for infractions.

your right if each on is on a different stations it is a problem

we are on a job where the GC is known for being very high on safety and they have there safety man stops in once a week . they allow radios as long as they do not get to loud .

so i need to keep my rap music low
