That was quite an opening ceremony last night, very impressive to say the least!

I wonder if I am the only one that felt, just a little, intimidated
by the shear number of the Chinese during their performance
on the field ......... awesome spectacle.

Though it was politically incorrect, I think his comment was on Mings freakish height, not his race.

For that matter, we could construe his commercials with the "Yo...Yao" lines as an insult to the chinese language barrier.

I'm looking forward to both the Cheese Rolling and the Wife Carrying competitions.

                Not me.
When we came to America to expand our interests a few hundred years ago we ran group oriented creatures over cliffs by the hundreds of thousands, been having pretty good luck doing it many times over ever since

Bejing put a lot of energy into a beautiful SHOW.

                I'm a little frustrated.
This is the first time in my life I have time to watch the world compete. There are many events going on at any given time.I wonder how the cable networks chose what to show.
I've already missed some guns, swords, arrows and the good ole a$$ whoopin' grappling of Judo.
What do they think a guy wants to watch,oh wait a minute,yeah...SWIMMING

then maybe Mongol or Mongolian would have been the better choice. it came accross as racist.

                      Re: Olympics

I like the gymnastics the most because everything they do, even the simplest seeming iron cross is something that I can't even do poorly.

Now I can't run the 100m dash in under...well probably 30 seconds, but i can still run. Maybe 25 seconds if there is a bee after me.

One of my ex-partners was born and raised in Jamaica so when he picked the restaurant we often ended up having goat. I never acquired a liking for it but he could eat it 24/7. He now owns a goat farm in Jamaica and his biggest problem is the employees taking the goats home for dinner.

No joke. I predict China will do very well this year. Mr. Macho american.

I don't believe we as 'americans' are superior to anybody. We are all human beings, regardless of invisible political lines.....which is the whole spirit of the Olympics.
