In 75 more minutes.I will be smoke-free one year Should I smoke a cig. to celebrate? You think? NOT. Does this make any kind of sense? I must be drunk on cleaner air.

      Congrats!!!!

I tried the Chantix a few weeks ago but stopped taking it. It was making me depressed. I'd rather die of the big C than feel like I was.

Congratulations on your success! You have done the right thing. There is nothing I can think of that is positive about cigarettes or other tobacco products.

I have had Chantrix sitting on a dresser in my room two months. For some reason I can't bring myself to start taking it. But I can tell you this, "You do not want to be 62 years old and still smoking cigarettes."

A few weeks ago VA Sandy began a smoking cessation trip. I followed the thread and then lost it. Does anyone know how she made out?

Congrats Ken. I quit 8 months ago too. I feel so much better and Im sure you do too.

A friend of mine once told me, you can quit on your own or you can quit when the doctors tell you that you have less then a year to live, the choice is yours.

Good question and I haven't seen her post any updates.

Everyone that tries to quit and really does quit will get a great reward for their efforts in the form a better health. Also think of all the money you're saving so you can buy more nice tools to have fun with.

Good for you. Fortunately, due to my parents smoking it was enough to make me not want to smoke. I used to chew tobacco in high school until I was shown a video on cancer of the mouth. I never touched it again.
