  • Star Wars technology in the 21st century

They say Star Trek, the original series and follow-on series inspired many of the gadgets that we look at as commonplace today like cell phones, PDAs, etc.

Well look at these videos and think about where we will be in 10 years.
Do any of them have roots in or resemble robots from the Star Wars movie series? I think Big Dog does, the others are amazing too.

"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."

Did anyone see the exoskeleton that DARPA made for soldiers? Unbelieveable. Sony also made their own version but their customer is the elderly.

I can dream up over a dozen military uses for these just in the first minute or two.

It looks like DARPA is spending my tax money intelligently.
