  • Anybody into grilling?

I just bought a new grill. It is far different than any other i have ever owned.

A good friend of mine is now a distributor for a company called Grill Dome.

It is a ceramic style cooker and smoker that has a lifetime warranty. I am super excited about getting it.

You may have heard of the Big Green Egg. It is similar but better built in my opinion.

Here is a link to the site:

I've got a couple of buddies that bought them. They both cracked.I don't know if it was because they had bad composites 4 years ago or if they just got them too hot. They still use them and they work great for what they were designed for.Kindof like a smoker.

      Rick...

        How is this SPAM???

I am just wondering if anyone else has used a grill like this.

It was not a cheap purchase so I am hoping I made the right decision.

I just got your VM Rick. Sorry i missed your call.

Do you have a grill similar to this?

it can be used as either. Great for steaks or slow long cooks.

You can add a cast iron pot of smoke chips to the lump charcoal and use as a smoker.

I'm going to cook some ribs for my first cook. Should take about 5-6 hours.

My buddy did pulled pork the other day and it took 18 hrs. He left it cooking all night long and it held the temp without ever having to add coal or even opening the thing. It was delicious.

It will cook thick cut steaks at 750 degrees in just minutes too.

This type of grilling becomes a lifestyle it seems. I've read a lot on the various forums for this stuff and it is pretty awesome.

                        Re: Anybody into grilling?

I have a Big Green Egg and love it. Mostly do pulled pork and beef briskets. If you really get into the smoking end of it, there is a temperature regulator that you might want to consider. Its called a DigiQ II temperature controller. A little pricy but it saves a lot of constantly monitoring and adjusting the vents to keep the temperature constant. You can put on a couple of pork shoulders and let them go overnight at 225 degrees and finish up the following day.
Also, you can find a lot of recipes and tips on the BGE forum.
