  • I have something to say!!!

I'm not a great writer, so hopefully this comes out sounding right....

I was once pissed off big time from a member of this forum, who recently passed away. I was mad enough to quit, then I was over whelmed at the responses from many members here that did not want me to quit. I must say, I am glad I took all of their advices, this place is awesome, respectful, caring and hardworking people come to this site every single day. Even as time went by, me and Dog still had some exchanges but we did get along and made peace.

Now someone here, that contributes a lot to the site wants to leave because of a bad scene. I for one, do not want him to leave, nor should he have to change his name if he decides to stay.

Our names are all over the internet, whether we like it or not. So is our business license number, our address and telephone number. Some of us even have pictures of our family on the net for anyone to view. Most of us give out the information from our website or what we post.

When Frankiarmz name was revealed here, I did not see it and I'm sure the majority of the visitors did not see it as well. No one should have their real names posted here, unless its all right by them. I don't think that you have anything to worry about Franki and this is why you should not leave.

I really enjoy what you have to say in here, you are a huge contributor to our forum. And I'm sure that majority of the regular visitors feel the same way as I do. This is a good clean site, and I must say I'm proud to be a part of it and I know Franki, so are you....

I think as far as what happened, Mark and Josh took care of the matter and cleaned it up. I didn't even see your guys argument nor care to read it, if its still in here. Words flies when an argument gets heated up and most of the time we regret what we said and wish we could change what happened.

Why masterplumber did what he did, is beyond me. Actions should have been taken against him, which may have, I don't know. He also contributes to a great deal with our site, which I also enjoy reading what he has to say. But no one should do an investigation on another member, that my friends I find just wrong.

Politics and Religion are in our lives every single day. And its a sad thing that people need to argue over them or about them. I respect what everyone has to say in here and I must say, there is a whole lot of knowledge in this place. Which is why I would always be a part of this site.

Franki, you need to think on this, we don't want you to leave, but if you must feel the need to change your name in here, then let Josh do so. This will all blow over and quicker than you think, I would bet on it.

Even though I do 100% believe in the freedom of speech. I'm glad the Political threads we're stopped, but they should not be stopped till after election time, thats wrong but it ir Ridgid's site, so I'll respect their decision.

I think if you need to discuss Political Campaign, then take it to the chat room. Because no one wants to go in there a reread what everyone had to say, I sure don't.

I know I could keep on writing and repeating what I'm trying to get across. Your pretty much safe in here Franki, so don't leave. One bad incident doesn't justify the many, many good days you spent in here.

I agree 100% and would not want anyone to leave. I never got a chance to read tinmack's last post but I don't think he should be banned either. He might of been drunk or had a really bad day when he wrote that. I think a deletion of his post and and serious warning would've sufficed. That being said, I think finding information on another forum where someone has to post their name and address for specific reasons and posting that information on here or any other forum is extremely wrong and just as bad if not worse as posting a thread full of vulgarities. We need to remember that we can disagree with a person's ideals and debate their ideals but not attack their personal life.

I never saw any of the posts directly so I learned about them secondhand but I do fully trust Mark and Josh and I leave and support the decision they make about the situation.

Garager, first I just had to chuckle that in your serious post a spammer replied. Must have been something you said.

I agree that Frank should still be here. I think it is pointless to delete his username and come back with a different one. The two will just end up getting linked up again in a post when people figure out who he is and he will be back in the original position. Just stay on as you are.

For the record, I spoke with dog many a time. I think he was just misunderstood. He really was an interesting guy

Um, buddy...your copy is all thats left of the spamhead...links included.

              Delete the links at least!

As for the topic, I won't get in the middle..for the most part I ignored much of the bickering and when I felt I had a point to make I just made it.

I draw the line at openly posting personal info, it was recentl;y done on another forum to a member who it tturned out wasn't the person they thought it was.

The fella showed up on the forum threatening legal action, I'll guess he'd been getting phone calls.

We all make mistakes, I have no problem with either member.

I hope they both stick around and resolve their issues.

Re: I have something to say!!!

You had me at "Garager". Thoughtful post and responses. I know masterplumb will be upset to even see my user name and I have to admit my stomach will turn whenever I see his considering what he did but since no one came knocking at my door I'll give this another try. Mark and Josh were quick to act and let it be known that this posting of personal information will not be allowed. Masterplumb and I argued not only about politics but also about Unions and it got heated. I know I got carried away defending my positions. Insults were exchanged and when the attacks became more personal he crossed the line from my standpoint. I sent no e-mails (wouldn't know how do contact him beyond here) I used no profanity and made no threats. I did use strong language after he posted my last name since I felt I put myself and my family in possible jeopardy of some other nut who could not resolve things with words. While I think politics and religion are touchy subjects ,we can disagree and get all worked up over all sorts of issues. Who can tell what the other person is going through and what there mood is? I'm dealing with all sorts of personal problems at home and for all I know Masterplumb is going through worse stuff, I don't know. I do think the keyboard allows us to sometimes get carried away and say things we would not say in person. I try to imagine the person in front of me while I write, he is younger, bigger and stronger, I keep that in mind and watch my words. Now even with that mindset I can be provoked and the other night was bad. I'm glad it ended on the Internet and did not take place in person. I have really enjoyed myself here, getting to know some of you and share information, stories, laughs and sad times has been a good diversion from what is going on at home. I have given this a lot of thought hope I am doing the right thing. I want you all to know your suport is deeply appreciated, with any luck we will all learn to better understand eachother in the future. I don't think I owe Masterplumb an apology, but if there is something going on in his life that is so difficult to deal with that he couldn't handle the stress of the argument as well, and lost his head then I am sorry. This site is very special and it would be ashamed to have it get a bad rap over this, let's move forward people.

Exactly, you don't know and I have explained myself to a few who cared why.

I probably would have taken care of things a different way if I had to do it over again. Garager, did I do something against a written rule on the Ridgid forum or was it just poor judgement? If there is some rule that I broke then ban me, honestly, I like it here but if I have to go, believe me I won't lose one wink of sleep.

I am not going to comment on Frank anymore and as far as Im concerned I explained myself, wheather it's right or wrong its done and I cant change it.

Poor judgement. I wouldn't sweat this, just move on from there. about everyone has had an uh oh moment. When I first came on, I posted a thread with a pornographic title to get more views but it was at a bad time because someone important was going to look at the forum. Josh had to delete the thread and I felt so bad about it. Happens to everyone, the important thing is to learn from it.
