Ya had to capitalize "Old", didn't you? That photo is about 54 years old now.

We lived in that trailer in the background on "Back Bay" behind the peninsula between Biloxi and Keesler AFB, Dad too that steel pole with a big ol' Penn reel on it and anchored on the edge of the Biloxi ship channel. He'd catch bait fish on the shallow side using shrimp, and then use them on the deep side for shark. Pulled 'em in and shot them with the High Standard .22 I own today. One day comiing home into the brackish side of the bay he got that gar, and he said that tail can pull amazingly hard.

We have the little gar in the rivers around here, but they're only about 6-10" long and really thin. People call them needle fish.

Whew. I thought he was doing something to the poor dog.

            I get so confused sometimes.

I haven't been there since I was almost 4, and I never want to go back. I've seen all those photos and home movies from 50+ years ago, with the wide open beaches littered with the occasional cottage or trailer court and sand roads. The only thing you could see down the beach was the lighthouse.

I know that it is now door to door casinos, hotels, eateries, and condos. I don't want my memories (either real or from movies/photos - not sure which is which any more) sullied.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I don't want to back home to Hawai'i for the exact same reason.
