  • Movies that you cant quit thinking about

Every once in a while I watch a movie that makes me think for a few days. More often than not its a movie that disturbs me and I cant quit thinking about it or feeling a sense of loss because of how it ended. Sometimes its a sci fi movie that gets you dreaming about the possibilities.

    Examples:

    Matrix
    Atonement
    A.I. (artificial intelligence)

Anyone else ever get stuck on thinking about a movie for a few days after you see it?

    Shawshank Redemption

One of the most inspirational movies I've ever seen, especially when the guy escapes by crawling through that sewer pipe (close resemblance to my profession) and welcoming freedom of the rain hitting his face, knowing his plan has just begun to take down the villan. (Prison Ward)

People stood up and clapped after that movie, the same as Schindler's List except people were crying as well.

I saw a movie called "Old Boy" a few months ago that was super twisted and took me for a very unpleasant ride. It is a Korean movie and very, very well made, but goes for broke in the psychological department. It isn't super violent or gory, but it causes a more visceral response than any movie I've seen in a long, long time. I recommend it, but be ready to feel something.

Also the series Deadwood still makes me feel sad when I think about how it's over. I miss the characters.

And I am still watching The Wire. I always wanted to mention that in the second season there is a scene on a freight ship in the cabin of a suspect that has a Ridgid calendar on the wall. My Gal thought I was a total dork for getting so excited about that.

        Highly recommend.

I randomly thought about that movie in the car yesterday. About the boy under the ice, just wanting his parents to love him.

I think movies and TV are the great literature of our time. I do sometimes think about a movie for a while, but can't come up with many off the top of my head.

            Into the wild.

Privileged kid gives everything up to trek across the country and find his ture self. Book is way better, as most are but still a great movie.

the "Snow Walker" starring Barry Pepper.

parts of the movie were shot up here as well as Churchill, Manitoba.

i'm actually in the movie as an extra. you don't see my face but i am the very first person you see and also the last person you see.

              no word of a lie.

i only got the part because i've got most of my teeth.

March of the Penguins and Eight Below

If you've seen them then you know and if you haven't seen them, please do try to but they are not for children to see regardless of the MPAA rating. March of the Penguins had me thinking about what they go through and how smart a penguin has to be be to survive.

I can think of a few others that really had me thinking and that I still do think about but they were in VERY limited distribution so I doubt anyone else heard of them or would be able to see them now. Hey, Get your minds out of the gutter. They were NOT porn.

Mister Mom, guess the neighbor ladies missed that one, then again I'm no Michael Keaton. Seriously, GroundHog Day gets me thinking although we don't repeat the exact same day over and over again, every day does offer us another opportunity at life and at how we want to spend it.

-Fraility- will mess your head up for a couple days. Very emotionally intense.
-Fight club-I hated the movie the first time because I didn't get it but I love it now.
-Clockwork Orange-nothing needs to be said
                              -Blade runner
-Snatch-the entire movie was just well written, great dialogue
-American Beauty-very quirky but well written
-Meet Joe Black/Scent of a Woman-my 2 favorite chick flicks.
