    i installed a $500 faucet. it looked like a regular $100 one.

i've done some boiler replacements and stuff like that.

i also installed 3 kitchen sinks in a rabbi's kitchen (kosher)

    i'm just curious.

I've installed a ton of expensive stuff but the one I always thought was silly was 30-years ago I installed a $1,200 lavatory for Cher. It was a standard china lav that they had wrapped in gold foil (real stuff). The foil was damaged so easily the lav was almost not usable.

$3,200 Italian hand painted lavy bowl for some White House lawyer

Gold plated toilet seat for one of our infamous mayors. I have no idea what that cost us.

When I say "us" I mean the taxpayers of Washington D.C.

Dornbracht faucet shower system. 3-4 thermostatic valves, 3 overhead rain-showers, 12-14 bodysprays, hand-shower wand. The water pipes supplying the shower were 1 1/4" copper. TWO 3" drains in the tile floor drained all the ridiculous GallonsPerMinute.
The total cost of this one private shower system: $30,000. It was for some hot-shot wall street investment banker.

Was this when you were working in the Hamptons?

I'm kind of curious how those are legal if we are all supposed to have 2GPM shower heads.

I once Installed a custom gold rolex faucet guy said he paid 16 grand for the thing.

A custom glass blown multi colored hippy lav if memory serves me correctly 6 g's. Same house also did a a polished concrete lav built on site about 5g's.

But the money is on a shower pretty much the same as the one service guy did.

Yep. The Hamptons. This guy wasn't too concerned about water conservation. The shower-head flow restrictors are easily removed (even if it is illegal), and there is no law against having ridiculously wasteful shower systems that I know of, I see them all the time.
