  • All quiet on the central front

so as some already know, i´m out of town in costa rica

have already plunged a toilet and repaired a tub stopper for 2 of 34 others on the trip.

off to canopy today and rapel the water falls on saturday.

managed to save a girls life/ bones from a serious fall climbing to the water falls.

managed to go to the local building supply and showed them my ridgid hat. they didn´t have any ridgid tools there

so i guess i´ll have to come back next year with a bag of tools

    i´m watching what you post

      Rick,

Good to have you back you were missed. As for the Bot Fly you picked up just put some vaseline on the wound and it should die. However, you will then need to remove the dead larva still. I think if it were me, I would try to remove the larva while it is still alive which sometimes can be accomplished by taping a piece of raw meat to the wound.

Here is a link to a site which may have some advise.

You call it mean I call it helpful. I've looked at the photo of the wound and suggest you forward one to your brother to diagnose. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

BTW: Keep in mind Charlotte may enjoy eating the larva due to it's extreme size.
