I guess 'All Terrain' doesn't include concrete slab

robertson decking is typically a max. of a 6'' pour. what were they thinking

even us plumbers know you can't drive on fresh concrete. not to mention the fact that that crane probably weighs 150,000# with it's counterweights.

i've got a 2000# crane in the back of my truck to lift large heaters and my jetter. it's never crashed through the street

I would like to see some pics of the removal of the crane and what it looked like sitting on the ground again. Just the cost of the recovery will be sky high. Can you say get out the cutting torch!! You know for sure that the boom is junk. I still can't believe the operator would pull out on that concrete!! Looks like there was reinforcing jacks under the outriggers below the slab. Hope they had good insurance, but wondering if they will pay off.

drove by a job site today and it had a portable tower crane set up.

i counted at least 12- 6500# counterweights on the back end of it.

the crane was sitting on the ground on dry dirt.

years ago we had a construction temporary tower crane come down. this was the kind that the operator used a joystick from remote to control his mast.

he tried lifting 2 bundles of plywood and as he extended it all the way out, it snapped. came crashing down onto the new walls that were framed. no one got hurt, but the job was shut down till osha could investigate and then the demo crew could cut and dispose of the heap.
