  • ~New Year's Resolutions for 2009~

    Post them here folks.

Don't be shy, you have a few days before you start.

I'm going to cut down my internet time substantially, commit myself to doing follow-ups with my customers and work myself back to where I had an excellent system of running a solid format for work, not letting everything pile up for days/weeks/months.

I'm going to clean my truck up once and for all!

I'm going to see a doctor finally!

I got a free membership to a gym!

This is going to be an extremely hard year for me in 2009, lots of money is going to sift through my hands without me personally enjoying the money but that's okay; I'm going to make sure I get anchored on my other 2 companies so 2010 I can relax with that established customer base.

Lots more but it's going to be fun, I just know it.

I was thinking about this today, and I was going to start this thread, but you beat me to it. I am in the process of deciding what mine are, but I'll post them when I figure it out. I want to make them realistic this time.

      Buy another truck.

      Buy another house.

      Sustain a relationship.

Be better organized. Believe it or not this will be the hardest.

      Build stomach & back muscles.

Get faster internet access. Still on dialup.

      Take some classes at night.

      Remove myself from the forum.

I should start a forum addiction forum, a forum for forum addicted forum members.

That way forum members can spend hours in that forum never getting better from their forum addiction.

        I don't want to tell anyone how much time I spend across the internet...but I'll say this;

When I started my stomach hung over my legs,

Now it hangs over the front of my knees.

I gotta stop, and I need to exercise and lose the sitting in one spot for hours eating everything. Don't laugh if you all see me on Dr. Phil crying with snot running out of my nose trying to hug everyone on stage, copping a feel with the beautiful blond therapist.

          1. Balance my time equally between work, play & rest
          2. Take advantage of the 10 hour/4day work week that I implemented in the company this year. Everyone else uses it but I still work 10 hours/5days a week. Poor, poor, me!
          3. Continue building what I started last year: Solar & Plumbing divisions
          4. Keep passing bits & pieces of the company to my son & daughter.
          5. Make a difference in somebody's life no less than once per month.
          6. Do a good job as Junior Warden in my Masonic Lodge.
          7. Do something good for my church.
          8. Scuba dive at least four times.
          9. Ride a motorcycle at least once per month.
          10. Play board games with my wife because she likes it.
          11. Work in the field more.
          12. Smile more.

I don't have a chance in H***, but I'll give it my best shot! Good to write it down though. they say writing a resolution down makes a difference in seeing it come to fruition.

Great ideas guys and I wish you all the best. Personally I have found change difficult in some of these areas. I do go to the gym almost everyday but I love to eat! Losing weight will be a tough one. I do make an effort to smile and compliment folks and that is not only good for others in my life it makes me feel good. I admit too much of my time is spent watching tv and using the Internet, so working on a resolution to change that would be great. Maybe my dog's got the right attitude? He's happy to live his life just the way it is, no worries, no cares.

                        I actually started mine early.
                        1. I RETIRED from full time work.
                        2. Spending more time with my wife. (I usually coach around 120 baseballgames a year).
                        3. Trying to lose weight. (Give me some tips Old Chevy).
                        4. Enjoying life with less stress.
