    if you look at this pic you will notice the bow these hunters are using.

    my understanding is that this was the first compound bow. although i could be wrong.

    this bow was made from 5 pieces and put together with sinew (ivaloo). sinew is the fibrious that is located on the caribou's neck between the muscle and skin.

    we also had a 3 headed arrow. well actually it had 1 head with 2 prongs. the idea was that if the arrow head didn't actually penetrate the animal (bird) hopefully 1 of the prongs would render it flightless.

      Cool picture Vince...

      I always thought that compound bows have wheels, for the relax spot.

            I agree with Tom, technically it is not a compound bow unless is has the cams to "compound" or multiply the force and give "let-off" (reducing draw weight when at full draw)

                Nice we are talking bows. Last night was the 1st night of archery legue. The only thing that would make shooting a bow better is if it had a big bang and some recoil
