    this is a picture of a RCAF aircraft.

    can you spot the difference bewteen our warbirds and the other country's?

      yup.

      i thought that was a real neat idea.

      although i don't think it's much of a secret now.

      that little bit of paint to fool the enemy was shown on the TV a couple years back.

        At first I thought it was something to deter radar then I noticed the lines matched the canopy.

          in a dog fight, the fake canopy might confuse the enemy when taking evasive action.

            I suppose that's a plus, if you can get that close... but from any gun footage that I've seen (perhaps not enough) you'd "lock-on" at far greater distances and dispatch the bird with an air-to-air.... wouldn't you?

            The markings on the craft are extremely suttle. I suspect a pilot would have to use electronics to identify this plane as friend or foe. Considering the number of international trade aircraft and the considerable high speeds of today's combat aircraft I imagine it would be hard to recognize anything by sillouette or markings such as this.
