I don't have any experience with them but my grandson has a racing cart. There is also a business which just took over a 50,000 square foot building here to do an indoor cart racing track.

Mostly what I'm trying to figure out is how to soup up a 5hp Briggs & Stratton. I've heard that it's possible to get 15 horse out of one. Spose I could sguff the nitrous to it but longevity would be a problem.

        Re: Raceing Go Carts

There is a racing go kart association that takes over part of our beach parking lot at certain times of the year. Very expensive at the racing level. Saw an ad for one in my newspaper a couple years ago, they wanted $4,000.
Price out your frame, suspension, steering and other parts unless money won't be a problem. There is a fellow on ebay who specializes in small engine repair of homelite chainsaws. He has built some amazing go carts powered by chainsaw engines I believe.

"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."

              Re: Raceing Go Carts

When I was a lot younger (before I had my drivers license) I had a mini bike with a two horse briggs on it, I bought some porting bits and went to work on it not really knowing what I was doing. My friends that also had mini bikes with five horse engines could not figure out how my little engine was as fast if not faster than theirs. I call it luck.
