  • My trip in Africa

As some of you may have known, I've been in Africa since oct 08. This is why I would post at odd hours and disappear for weeks at a time. I just came back today and it's great to be back. The flight took 32 hours so I'm a little tired as I write this.

I was a project inspector in Djibouti and Comoros. Learned a lot about project management in the fact that I want nothing to do with it. Being a service plumber and hvac guy is where I'm happiest.

Got into 2 wrecks when I was down there and both were in the same month. Just bad luck I guess. I never got hurt, maybe to the fact is that all we drove were diesel toyota landcruisers. That's not a typo-toyota makes diesel landcruisers that get 25mpg and have 2 fuel tanks. Why they don't sell them in the states is a mystery to me. Best vehicle I ever drove.

I'm just happy to be back, I haven't done any plumbing or hvac since oct which really worries me. I think I forgot a lot on the hvac side but am ready to jump back in. I'm now getting ready to move to California and start packing up the house.

Check out the pics on my album.

home! I bet Felicia and Keola were excited!

One of your phone-a-friends was whining that you didn't tell him yourself. I will let you figure out who.

We went to Africa on a hunting trip in the 90's. Had a great time, but I can't say I would want to live there for very long. Welcome back!!

                        Hi Ben,

                        Glad you are back safe.
"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."
