  • Are you old enough?

To remember tin lunchboxes? I had a Kung Fu themed one when I was a kid.

Woussko's post about David Carradine just made it pop in my head. Hadn't thought about it in years.

We had tin ones and we had to be careful not to drop them because your milk in your thermos is no good when it's full of glass.

For me it was mid-80s plastic and the ones I remember were GI Joe and Transformers.

Had that happen to me a couple times (broken thermos). It wasn't until 1977 that I got my first SS thermos, a Stanley, which is still going. I had a metal lunch box, but don't remember what the theme was or if it even had one come to think of it.

Grade 1 and 2 had a metal "Bonanza" lunch box... picture of Hoss and Little Joe

I remember opening the original thermos at lunch for some cocoa and pouring out chunks of glass

It happened to all the replacement thermos's too (sooner or later)

By the time Kung Fu was on the tube I was "brown bagging" it in the sixth grade... too cool for a thermos by then as well

My lunchbox had the Flintstones on it.

What was the little Martians name that only Fred and Barney could see?... Kazoo?
