  • Sheds and heads

I went to look for antler sheds and arrowheads today, got skunked. I did manage to find an old coal mine and a haul wagon and boxcar.
That heavy hauler has a spot for four axles.

Those are great pictures and remind me of the area around my property in Utah. I have a Mill Site at the top of my property and we have gold mines all over the place. On the other side of the Highway from me is all sorts of Uranium Mines and on my property they use to mine Potash. After everybody leaves there are old buildings and equipment everywhere. Today it is kind of neat to see them and imagine a time which once was.

I had a girlfriend once that had a "gold mind"--all she talked about was wanting a gold ring!!!

Where is this? If private, no need to answer.

old electric pole wire insulator. typically found around RR tracks
                          ~~

... it was plumbed by Ray Charles and his helper Stevie Wonder

It may or may not be worth money depending on its condition. I know that there are people that collect those and there are internet web pages that show the value and history of the different types.

It's strange to go by a major rail line now and not see any of the above ground open wire communication systems in use. A lot of the lines in my part of Canada appear to be abandoned in place with spans of them fallen down and no repairs done to them other than remove the poles if they happen to fall on the track.
