  • Opportunity for Ridgid - NASCAR

DeWalt announced that they will end sponsorship of Matt Kenseth at the end of this racing year. That means that the #17 will be looking for a sponsor. Sure would be nice if Ridgid could step in. Kenseth is a very popular driver and the Ridgid name would get a lot of exposure.
It's gonna be strange not seeing the yellow and black #17 DeWalt car in future line ups.

It sure would be great exposure if Ridgid were to do that but don't look for it to happen. They didn't announce what the dollar figure was that DeWalt/B&D paid Roush Racing to sponsor that car but I'm guessing it was in the millions. Sponsoring a race team is a pretty big expenditure these days.

I don't see it happening now either. But it doesn't hurt to mention it........

Anybody going to Bristol next month?

It wouldn't be in good taste to fill the shoes of Dewalt anyway.

Ridgid if they wanted to be involved in that, should fly solo and "create" the idea through sponsorship of a team that never had a tool company sponsor.

Dewalt is pulling out because their sales are getting destroyed by this economy.
