I just finished a bowl of cookie dough icecream (my food nightcap) and was thinking how crazy our eating habits and food choices have become. We just can't wait to eat the chocolate chip cookie, no we have to eat the raw dough! When did this impatient trend start and what's next, raw fish Life was so simple when I was young and choices so few. Vanilla, chocolate and maybe strawberry icecream, unless of course someone was graduating high school and you were at an icecream parlor. A hamburger was fancy if it had cheese and onions, now it's barely recognizable. Even candy has been corrupted, kids don't want a snickers bar or some other chocolate confection, they have been drawn into the taste of sour and the more sour the better. I'm glad my kids are older, I had fun making sure their Halloween candy was safe. They always had plenty of goodies back then to share with Dad, now I would have to pass, "No thanks kid, you keep your candy".
