        Rick

If you ate all that for dinner you have got to be a very sick dog now.

This video shows what the New Rick looks and feels like.

I think the food was just too rich. Oya was flavorful without being too rich and heavy.

            The hot beignets (sp?) rocked!

                      Re: First afternoon in DC

My last evening in DC. . . .we went to Zola's. We got a little turned around getting there, but Crack got us there. The lobster mac 'n cheese was amazing! Thanks for the tip Crack

Then we went for a stroll. We ended up walking probably 5 miles. Found a huge Macy's, then wandered over to the treasury and the White House. We saw the ending of the beer chat.

I learned that taxi's don't stop for pedestrians even if they are in a cross walk and it says to walk. It only took almost getting run over 4 times before I really learned this lesson. The first time I was looking up at the interesting architecture of a building that had faces mixed into the design. Then Rick called and my friend told him how she saved me. The last time I was looking at the architecture of a beautiful church. I said god wouldn't run me over while admiring a church, but I also said I better not press my luck and started to pay attention to where I was walking.

I can't believe that everything closes so early here (by 8pm) when so many people are out wandering the streets.

It has been a nice trip, but I am ready to come home.

                        Joey

Have a good safe trip home and let us know you made it. This area is full of crazy people for sure.

I can't stand when people walk against crosswalk signals. I try to watch out for them, but RED does mean don't walk. Maybe it's more where I am but some people are mixed up. They stand put while it's green and then start walking when the little hand turns red.

Do you remember the name of the church? There are some very beautiful ones in this area. I bet you have some out where home is for you and Rick.

Zola's is also one of my fav places to eat. Generous pours of wine for $4 and dollar sliders at happy hour.

Treasury and the White House?....that was a long walk. Glad you enjoyed it here. Bring Rick next time and we'll schedule a playdate.

                          Have a good flight home
