  • Gutter attachment with Eidgid vac?

Anyone know of a kit to clean gutters with my new vac.
I have 20ft hi gutters and tired of going up on the roof and it would
be just dandy to do it from the ground.

I've mostly seen the gutter cleaning attachments for pressure washers, but I got rid of my trees because of thier other end. LOL

I can tell you that for the most part use of such kits with a shop vac leads to frustration. Trying to suck out leaves from gutters only plugs up the tubing or your hose frequently and trying to blow them out in most cases leaves you wanting far more air flow and pressure. As Dan said, the real cure is to deal with the source of leaves if you can. If you really want to get the kit and try it here's where you can get one of them. Be sure your vac uses 2-1/2 (really more like 2") hose and has a good blower port.

I've had better results trying to blow them out than to suck them up unless you have tiny size leaves. You can buy this kit direct and have it shipped to you. Sadly when I've tried direct ordering any vac accessories from RIDGID customer service, either they take a very long time to arrive or they just don't have stock. I've had much better luck ordering from ShopVac Corp. directly.

I've got an Echo back pack blower that works well for this. Not sure how well a vacuum will do. Be prepared to get dirty if you do use a backpack blower.

Maybe you would like to see the Gutter Cleaning Tool that attaches to any 2-1/2" wet/dry vac hose and you can vacuum out your gutters from the ground. Yes even your 20' high gutters! Customer's of this tool say they take the two 20" wands that came with their vac, buy a third wand and you can reach 15-16' gutter. Used four wands to get to his 20' high gutters. Be sure to jam the attachments together for more support.

Check out the brand new American Made, patent pending, Gutter Clutter Buster at www.gutterclutterbuster.com and you can see two videos that shows you exactly how efficient it works. By the way, the wet/dry vac used in the video at Gutter Clutter Buster (youtube video,as well) is a Ridgid 16 gal, 6 hp. However, a smaller 2-1/2 hp 5gal will do just as good a job. You have to empty the hopper more often, but it doesn't loose any suction for a one-story house. I would recommend a minimum of 5 hp for a two-story home. If you have any questions you can call the phone number on their site and they will answer all your questions. Best of luck to all and God Bless America.
