  • Saturday Event After Roundup - Options

The roundup is getting really close. I wanted to start the discussion on who is going to be around for that Saturday and what we wanted to do.

Saturday is officially not part of the roundup but if everyone is around I definitely want to try to hang out somewhere.

So here are a few options I thought of...

    1) We could always do Cedar Point again. Price would end up being somewhere south of 50 bucks per person unless we find a deeper discount. We would also need a way to get out there. I have a van that could be converted to carry 6 people. Cedar point is always fun even if some folks are scared of the big coasters PR (BTW... Cedar point is the world's #1 roller coaster park and quite fun)

1.1) There is also a really cool water park attached to Cedar point that we could do as an alternative.

The remaining ideas I have are narrower in appeal so it may need to do a mixture of them....

    2) If there was a decent sized group that wanted to golf I could set something up at a local course. Golf is pretty cheap out here and fall is usually a beautiful time to golf.

    3) Downtown Cleveland - we have the rock and roll hall of fame, a bunch of places to eat, mediocre shopping, sporting events (havent checked whats going on) but heading out there is always an option.

    4) Roundup Softball game - we have plenty of local parks here with nice softball field. I could try to round up some gloves and bats and we could all play softball

I will put some more thought into this as we go.. Right now I am the only for sure Ridge person for Saturday. We'll have to see who else wants to do something. Helen will be out for the morning since she has to run 19 miles that morning (training for marathon)

Please let me know what you guys think would be good. I want to start planning something out in case I need to do any research or reservations.

    Cant Wait!!!!

Re: Saturday Even After Roundup - Options

is there any good fishing out on the lake?

you've seen me in the batting cages a softball game would end up being a team geritol blow out

roller coasters are fine, it's the motion sickness that i have an issue with

is there an indoor skydiving place, or a bungee jumping site?

then again based on last years shoot out. why not a paintball event

all i know is whatever team adams on, is the winning team

we could always hang out at joshes pad and finish all his summer chores

if you want to play golf, I'll bring my tired a$$ 10 handicap out there and we can form a scramble format. MY clubs are in the travel bag! An electrician can always learn from plumbers.

Bucyrus looks like a fun place to visit but we will be missing the Bratwurst Festival.

What's a trip to Ohio without stopping at the Wright-Dunbar Center in Dayton? However, the name almost seems like an oxymoron.

Re: Saturday Event After Roundup - Options

I'm always up for roller coasters (Rick, try dramamine); my sister's family is in the area so if something else for sat I will cedar point with nephews on sun. I don't golf. The airforce museum in Dayton I remember from a kid and thought it was amazing then, but it's a long drive and I have not been as an adult. Won't be renting a car but can borrow one and would have a few seats there.
This is my reminder to myself that no good will ever come from discussing politics or religion with anyone, ever.

We are only planning on renting one car this year so it will be a mini van but there are already 7-of us counting Joey.

how about some skeet/ trap shooting.

something about plumbers and shotguns sounds good

I have a 1' kiddie pool and we could use my grill . Seriously though... we could always do a local park and maybe have a cookout and some softball / frisbee / cornhole / whatever.

We could probably fit in the Indians game as well. i am sure there will be plenty of open seats ;-)

Let me think a bit on what park would be a good one to go to. I know the metro parks are out near the hotel and there is a decent swimming area on the river.

Is the Frisbee "standard play" of "Panamanian Prison Rules"?
