  • Durock Tile Membrane recommendations?

I would love to hear your thoughts on Durock Tile Membrane. Have you used it before?

When considering tile, and especially with waterproofing concerns, Durock Tile Membrane would be a good addition to a project.

It lays directly over the existing flooring, so you don’t have to spend time ripping out old flooring before laying tile. And, it’s super thin, so it won’t raise the profile of the floor. It’s also waterproof, and protects the subfloor if the room stays wet.

    And some installation videos here:

Full disclosure: I work with USG, but this seems like a good addition to the conversation.

There's a bunch of them out there. Schluter-Kerdi and Wedi systems are two I'm familiar with. Wedi is a bit more expensive but it goes up quicker and you can set your tile sooner.
