    Re: California Wild Fires

these were taken yesterday/ sunday 8/30 while driving to a job.

i wasn't the only driver that was pointing a camera out the window while stopped at the light.

looked almost like a mushroom cloud as their was no wind.

    rick.

these clouds were huge as this is taken from beverly hills and the fires are a good 25 miles as the crow flies.

the black building at the left side is larry flynts, world head quarters for all his publications.

it's not unusual to see his limo and his gold plated wheel chair.

some wild weather. very hot and no wind to fan the flames.

looking forward to a weather break in ohio.

don't worry, i plan on turning up the heat come competition time

It must be the Cottonwood Fire which is 95% contained but it only got within 20-miles of where Rick lives so he should still be okay.

Fire is something we worry about here every year. Our last big fire up here was the "Esparanza Fire" a few years ago, five fire fighters lost their lives in that one, it was set by an arsonist that is on death row now. So, everything is good up here now, but the season is here so I'm not comfortable yet.
Oops, I guess you were posting while I was typing.

It got within 5 miles of Idyllwild, too close for me.

On another note, last week he saw a bunch of guys on Victorys pulled over at the 14 and Angeles Crest Highway (right where the fire is). They looked a little nervous as he exited his cruiser and approached them. He then explained he was my son and he just stopped to say Hi and they relaxed a little.

Some changes with the CHP in the Bay area. More and more, I see this .
They stand outside their cars aiming their radar guns at approaching traffic. They try to hide the cars, when They can! One spot is behind a concrete overpass. Is this also new in So. Ca.? My guess it'$ pressure from the TERMENATOR TO RAISE SOME BUCK$$$
I can build anything You want , if you draw a picture of it , on the back of a big enough check .

eeeew. I'd be tempted to shoot that creature myself.
