That's a very honest critique of the situation, unfortunately a lot of parents ignore the disruption caused by their kids in school and the many distractions that add to their lack of effort. Teachers and schools are not perfect, but a student who wants to learn will go far in spite such things. I argue with my own wife about such things when she comes to the defense of our younger daughter instead of encouraging her to try harder, it is so much easier to place blame on the teacher or school. I have told her she is doing our daughter a disservice, you can't function well in life if you are constantly blaming others for your failures!
