  • Viega got an American Chopper

We just watched American Chopper. They made a custom yellow bike for Viega. The pressing system was featured while debating using actual fittings on the bike. In the end, out of safety concerns, no fittings were used as components to the bike. Viega showed their pressing system--a Ridgid Propress 320. But no mention of Ridgid!

The end product was a yellow and black bike with "V" cut-outs and Viega written on the sides, which was presented to the Viega crew in Wichita, Kansas.

Some of us got to see the "Ridgid Rigid" on our backstage event in Ohio.

When Viega has us over I wonder if we'll be critiquing the "V-Ride"

Yeah I saw it last year. I was just surprised they spoke about the crimping system, let the guys play with the fittings, talk about the different jaws, and then not even mention Ridgid.

Are you asking if they cooperate on a corporate level?

Unless you want your seat left up, I would suggest you stop picking on your fellow members.

I don't get it...why would Viagra sponsor a chopper? Not Ridgid enough?

                  I'm sorry,corporate.

You're as petty as most of the plumbers I work with(for whatever reason)
Now if they would just accept their estrogen level due to the fact they're lacking a "Y" chromosome like yourself I could be cool with them too.

For now I guess I'll just smile, shrug my shoulders and laugh.

Re: Viega got an American Chopper

Everyone has their own opinion, but I thought the chopper was a very poor attempt in making a bike "themed" toward the company.

It really looks very generic with a Viega name on it. Would just blend in with others.

Had to be some sort of advertising or promotional swap to me.

I'm no designer either, but I'm thinking an all polished copper (tinted metals/chromes) with offsetting colors showing off the ProPress wheels would have popped alot more.

Front fork with a ProPress arm look and some jaws machined to hold the front axle.

Something other than what they did. Poor effort in my book.

It looks to me like yet another of their un-rideable, slapped together mass marketed pieces of crap. Those dufaces are the Wal Mart of chopper building. If I was Ridgid, I would be happy to not be connected with it
