      HAPPY THANKSGIVING AH!

What do guys eat for traditional dishes?
I'm just wondering if it's the same as the U.S.A., Turkey, cranberry sauce, apple and pumpkin pies etc...

Our family, and many around here (big French population), always have a Touche pie or two. YUMMY.

          HUH?..

What do the Canadians have to be thankful for?

What's the back story to this?
I must have been absent the day we covered that subject

Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day (Canadian French: Jour de l'Action de grĂ¢ce), occurring on the second Monday in October, is an annual Canadian holiday to give thanks at the close of the harvest season. Although some people thank God for this bounty, the holiday is mainly considered secular.

The very first Canadian Thanksgiving sparked much protest after Canadian officials pushed the traditional date of the last Thursday of November to the presently set day of the first Monday of October, with the sole purpose of celebrating Thanksgiving before their North American counterparts.

                  Yeesh.

And yeah, pumpkin pie, cranberries, stuffing, turkey, yada yada.

Only no Black Friday, no football, and no yams with the browned marshmallows.

                  Although donations are kindly accepted.

Oh, and my thanks to all forum members for your kind Thanksgiving wishes.

I assume my other Canadian forum-mates are too busy stuffing their faces/playing in the fallen leaves to relay their thanks. Allow me to thank you for them.

And West Coasters, I was kidding, of course. Enjoy your warm day - it's only 52 where I am and windy at that.

I have to go work off my pie.

Or how about thankful that not all Canadians are as absurd and annoying as some forum members - present company included PC, of course.

I asked him to do that, you know. He owed me a favour, after all the cigars I've bought from him in the last few years.
