  • What motivates you?

    Well, what motivates you?

    Religion
    Family
    Money
    Whatever

No criticism for any answers. Just looking into others' inspirations.

    Re: What motivates you?

    I'm running out of time.

Makes me work 10 times harder not knowing where my ending is.

As many obstacles I've knocked down and defeated, I'm still determined to go farther, and I will.

I'm dating Kelli Pickler so that should calm the waters before the storm.

      Dunbar.

So are you saying running out of time to do what you want motivates you?

Or running out of time to complete what you want?

And stay away from N.C. girls. I didn't go grabbing on Ashley Judd.

      Yet....

Knowing I have the ability to make a positive change in someone else's life to help them alter their course. Knowing that a child will grow up having a better life than their mother did.

                Re: What motivates you?

I actually have to unmotivate myself. My drive is often excessive and sometimes can be a problem. Customers love me for it but I actually just wish I could something without obsessing about it.

Getting to the end is what motivates me.. now if I could only find the fast forward button.

"Go Tyman, Go Tyman, Go Tyman....."

But what is the source of that motivation?

When you are a good worker with a need to do things right, it's hard to settle for less. The trick is to find a balance, a middle ground where you don't sacrifice your qualtiy or volume of work for your quality of life, family or the needs or expectations of your customer. Maybe this quest is something to motivate you to work out different limits, internal red flags that tell you to step back or let it go for the next day?

                          Intellectual challenge.
                          Recognition from my peers.
Money, though in a big company money is a proxy for recognition.

If I'm working on something I consider interesting, it is very difficult for me to put it out of mind until I solve it.

Doesn't hurt that being good at what I do let's me put a roof over my kids head and food on the table. Without those, all the intellectual stimulation in the world doesn't matter.
