What a sad day. I grew up with Fess Parker. From Old Yeller and Daniel Boone, Davey Crockett a Disney Icon.. You never heard anything bad about him, he is and always will be an Icon. He was a very down to earth person. He will be deeply

They re-run Daniel Boone on one of my over-the-air stations now. Pretty good show.

You can get the DVDs for about $29/season I think.

He was a big man and I was a big fan when I was a
kid and even to this day still. That was great TV, not
like the crap they put on today for the most part.

I'd rather have Danial Boone reruns on the tube than
some of the junk that is there today.

The wife and I plan to visit California some year soon
and one of our stops was his winery where we both
hoped to meet Mr. Parker. We will still visit the place
no doubt but it will surely be missing something.

But thanks to his acting career he will never die in a
way. We and future generations can enjoy his talent
and follow in his path. How many of you guys had a
coon skin cap and a toy Kentucky long rifle when you
        were young?

I thought Fess Parker was a very good actor and really was made for those roles. I can't say it's a sad day because he lived to a good old age. We can't be upset when we live full lives and long lives. My Dad passed away a couple of years ago at the age of 87, he was very ill. I had a good relationship with him and often told him I respected and loved him for the good man and great Father he was. No tears.
