I don't socialize at the gym. I try to get in, get sweaty and sore, in under 90 minutes. Chit chat would slow me down. We do have a number of guys that use the 100's and I just kind of weave my way around them. They're cool for the most part, doing their thing. I can't imagine why a club would want to discourage these type of customers. Perhaps it's because these guys actually use the gym? I get my moneys worth out of my membership.

Hang in there bub. Have you considered doing some volunteer work to get you out of the house, take your mind off all the bad news you see every day?
Spiff, those heavy weights keep the muscles big but also do a certain amount of damage at my age. I probably should lift lighter! I have been around strong guys in the gym who were gentlemen and some who acted like morons, so I understand the fear of encouraging those who "lift heavy or go home". I have thought about volunteer work over the years but I have two problems with that. First of all, since I have some health problems I don't want to disappoint anyone or embarass myself by not being able to make a commitment. Secondly, since I'm dealing with some depression, I don't want to be in depressing situations, unfortunately a lot of that work is in such areas. I must sound terrible saying that, but I have to protect myself as well. I am the first guy to help a neighbor if they have a fallen tree or limb, or problem with a lawn mower or snow blower. I did try to start a business video taping personal property for insurance purposes, but unlike other parts of the country it did not do well here in CT. Thanks for the encouragement.

      Careful,

I meant my entire comment in jest. However, I only used it in the context where such a event, rather than a beacon of light to look up too, instead as a club to beat someone over the head with like in the video.

I knew it was in jest. Years ago when the video was popular people laughed when I said it now I get mostley blank stares. Don't forget when I was getting paid to carry an M16 it was a very peaceful time.

Quitting the Gym was the best thing to do. They are a private company they should be aloud to set policy the way they like. You are a free man you should not give them your money.

I get upset with you at times because of your youth, strength, health and opportunity to work and socialize. I'm stuck at home staying faithful to my wife and bored out of my mind. I have some health problems but can still manage to hit the gym an hour each day. Not the retirement I had hoped for and I strongly suggest those who are able to work, keep working! I often look out the window and wonder if I'm observing the view, or if I'm the fish in the fish bowl?

There is no "might" about a sex scandal, heck it takes all my will power and concentration to avoid that now! I would be in front of that microphone in a heartbeat sweating out a confession and apology. I'll tell you one thing, I'm no hypocrit. I'd say I'm sorry I hurt my wife whom I love dearly, but the temptation was too much, the look, feel, smell, and taste of those lovely women was incredible and I'd like to thank them from the bottom of my heart. Now that's a confession these other bums should have given, not that it was all a big mistake. Bunch of thankless, lying worms. There was no mistake all the many times they made love, they were laughing and smiling without a care in the world.

It only becomes a sex scandal if you try to cover it up. If you just freely admit you have sex with lots of women, no one cares.

There is a funny South Park episode on "sex addiction", with the CDC trying to figure out why rich successful men want to have sex with lots of women.

Sounds like a funny episode. I've given a lot of thought to the nature of man, and how society wants us to be viral, but monogamous. We are still trying to domesticate an animal of sorts, with very strong instincts. Failure rate is kind of high!

My apologies then as I obviously did not take it as you meant it. I have a nephew in the service, as well as the daughter of a good friend so this is a bit of a sensitive area for me right now.

Again, my apologies for my response.

Not to worry, I'm in the service, a veteran, and from a family with a long military history.

In which case, I'm up for my third deployment later this year. Heh, if you really want to see something funny, you can view my ugly mug on this site, it's in the "screen names" thread I believe.
