That's such BS. Why don't You stop using electricity, Any mode of transportation other than walking or biking, Don't use any med. facility's. Just look around Your home at all the petroleum products YOU and Your family use daily. Another Lemo. Liberal !
I can build anything You want , if you draw a picture of it , on the back of a big enough check .

How many earth quakes destroying homes and businesses and lives, and how many volcanoes can we take, polluting the air land and sea?

Well, I'm spoiled with my need for energy. Warm house in the winter and cool in the summer requires plenty. Still, the folks who transport all that oil need to meet high safety standards and be responsible for the best cleanup.

Nature is pretty foregiving, but I'm not if the captain or crew were drunk or asleep at the wheel, or if the ship was substandard or not properly maintained.

Heard on the radio today that someone "in-the-know" stated that the current wave of earthquakes has been caused by pornography. The response is a movement for a "dress-as-a porn-star" day to see who can really "rock my world".

Well, I just downed a good helping of Buffalo Chicken Quesidillias with Blue cheese, So, I'm bracing for an ecological disaster of my own in an hour or two.

I can see its a great laugh for the majority of you as earth quakes, vulcanoes and tsunamis, eating a certain foods and flushing a toilet are not man made.
We just had an idiot captain of a coal ship run aground on the great barrier reef off Queenland trying to save an hour or two on his way back to china releasing about two tons of oil and nearly causing an ecological disaster and just luck saved the day.
What I was referring to is the disaster unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico and the oil spill after the drilling platform exploded so I hope you enjoy your jokes I don`t but your closer to it than I am as we only have one earth.

And just what, exactly, do you want me to do? March right up to the coastline, hold up my right hand in a commanding jesture, and order the waters to halt? For the earth to remain still? For the masses to quit being idiots from time to time? Sorry, but I can't pave the world smooth, so I am going to have to put on some boots. That isn't the first time a tanker crashed, nor for other accidents to happen.

every now and then, I think to myself "the Amish have it right" and not the Amish that get driven to the store, but the families that still live off the land.

Then I kick on my gas heat in the winter, and my air conditioner in the summer and think "screw that"

We need a change in the types of energy we use, oil is the wrong answer. But the alternative has to be viable, I'm not sure nuclear is the best option, but wind farms take up a lot of real estate. solar? if they make the cells any more efficient that could be the answer, but it'll involve a change in culture. the upfront price of housing would have to rise considerably to cover the panel cost, and the battery bank that would be required. Toss in quick charging electric vehicles, and most people could get most of the way off of the electric grid. That still leaves big trucks burning diesel to bring them their consumer goods.
No, it's not rocket science, it's plumbing and unlike rocket science it requires a license.

Let us ponder the fate of all those ships and airplanes sunk in the oceans of the world during WWI and WW2 and Korea and VietNam. What happened to all that gasoline and oil and grease and nasty chemicals? Where did it all go? Nobody lifted a finger to clean any of that up and yet somehow nature did it's thing and within a very short time, it all went away? How about all those naturally occuring oil seepages that happen all around the world? Why is nobody doing research on that? Could it be because the Eco nutz can't make any money on that kind of research?

Good point ! To think we need to re shape the world is crazy are you going to cap all the volcanoes too or may be you should tell them if you don't want to be caped you will be taxed . The earth is old man and has gone thru a lot. I am not saying you do think this way AFM but maybe if you don't believe that the earth was created like by God then maybe you would worry about stuff like this. Just look back to history the earth can take it .

I think we should do all we can to prevent such disasters from occuring but the fact is they are going to happen. All we can do is try harder next time to avoid it. The earth will recover. In the grand scheme of things were only here for a split second. We have the luxury of being comfortable.
