I received this today from a friend and thought it was funny:

    THE COYOTE

    In California:

The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature
trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks the Governor's dog, then bites the
    Governor:

    1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie
"Bambi" and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only
    doing what is natural.

    2. He calls animal control . Animal Control captures the coyote
and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating
    it.

    3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and
bills the State $200 testing it for diseases.

    4. The Governor goes to the hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and getting his bite wound bandaged.

    5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game
conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of
    dangerous animals.

    6. The Governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a
"coyote awareness program" for residents of the area.

    7. The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better
treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the
    world.

    8. The Governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the
attack. The State spends $150,000 to hire and train a new agent with
additional special training re: the nature of coyotes.

    9. PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files a $5 million suit
    against the State.

    In TEXAS:

The Governor of Texas is jogging with his dog along a nature
trail. A Coyote jumps out and attacks his dog:

    1. The Governor shoots the coyote with his State-issued pistol and
keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow point
    cartridge.

    2. The Buzzards eat the dead coyote.

And that, my friends, is why California is broke and Texas is not.

    Awesome.
Love to see how he takes care of illegal immigration.

How much ammo does he buy in a year?

      Re: Coyote

      Interesting and very funny story.

On the factual side, however, Texas has a $1.2 billion, with a "B" dollar deficit. That is: shortfall; deficit; money that is not there to cover expenses that have already occurred. Hmmm. Doesn't that mean that Texas is basically in the same boat as California?

Oh, and yes, both governors should have shot the coyote and let the buzzards take care of the rest.
      Cheers,
      Jim

That dog wasn't worth a damn if one coyote could kill it.

Not all dogs are created equal. My dog got me for protection, not the other way around!

              Re: Cayote

My point is that I didn't buy a dog for protection, he is a good companion and barks to alert me if there's something outside. That makes him worth a dam in my book. Would you say a man who needs to depend on an animal for protection is not worth a dam? My point exactly.

That's fine Frank. I wouldn't own a mutt like that and I also don't own guard dogs.

Thanks for the pass on my choice of dog. He is a pure bred, but I'd love him even if he was a mutt. So you have no use for cute little dogs that can't kill coyotes, how are you with kids.

I got a big laugh out of that reply. You really care what others think? Life is short Abbott, get over what's gay or straight and think for yourself. A few years back I was walking my little dog and a few dopes passed by in a car and made a comment, they were having fun and smart enough not to stop.

So let me get this straight () little dogs are gay, or owning them is gay. Do gay guys frighten you, what if you had a gay son? I've had a tough life and things like that don't matter to me. I'm gonna love my little dog have a good laugh thinking him or me appear gay to some.

A little research reveals that Texas's estimated deficit could be logarithmically greater than the amount stated above. Texas in the same boat as California, in deed.

As for dogs, I'm with Walt Garrison (a Texan) and Mark Twain, (a one time Californian)
"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog."

Only if I can bring my dog. Hope we are not mistaken for a gay couple.

One of the nice things about a dog is that you can put a studded collar on it and it won't call you a pervert.
