  • Auburn Oak Trees Attacked/Poisoned

The twin Live Oak trees which have stood for years at Toomers Corner near Auburn University were attacked and poisoned the other day by some idiot from Alabama.

I'd like to see him swinging in a cage from one of those trees until they are dead.
And if people passing by should happen to give him whatever they feel he needs so much the better.
Maybe he will get hungry and they could feed him some soil from the base of the trees which he so graciously seasoned.

"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."
    John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

Yeah, I read about that as well. I sure am glad they caught that son of a b*tch.
