  • Next Terrorist Plot

I posted a few times that I thought explosives could be carried in body cavities, making it necessary to do extensive searches to ensure airline passenger safety. Today I saw new warnings that terrorist may be planning to surgically implant bombs to avoid detection. I wonder what this will mean for passengers who have had extensive or recent legitimate surgery? I've had about twelve abdominal surgeries over the years and my abdomen is a mass of scars, glad I don't fly!

Hey Frank lets be frank do they use plenty of lubricant to get their bombs into their cavities and what size could they get up you know where and how do they detinate them but farting as the smell would kill you before the bomb went off ???

Tony, they do it with drugs so it's not much of a stretch to think they could do it with explosives. I have not flown in years but if you can carry a cell phone or laptop, there's your battery and the detination device could easily be concealed within. We are just lucky that so far these terrorists have been morons.

It's not as easy as it might appear to disguise explosives as a battery in a notebook, cell phone, you name it.
With todays scanning equipment the difference can be readily seen, and there are other ways that most people
are not aware of and never even see or come in contact with that can detect explosives, gunpowder residue, etc.

They're out there alright! But what really kills Us, is ourselves. Look at the overweight KIDS AND ADULTS! It's what We put in out pie hole, that puts us in the ground early! Of course every time I see a teenager smoking, I want to put a size 10 Redwing up their ARSE. End rant.

I believe that the "next terrorist" plot has already been put in place and is doing it's job. Illegal aliens, skyrocketing debt, corrupt politicians, volatility in the markets, loss of jobs etc. We are being subverted from the inside out. There is no real need for bombs and guns. We will self destruct from our own greed and apathy.

We can show kids endless videos of cancer victims resulting from smoking, educate them on the science behind what smoking does to the body and these idiots will still smoke to look cool!

Regarding our self destruction, that plan has been a good forty or more years in the works. Plenty of us little people realized the stupidity in all our businesses and jobs leaving, but we were and still are powerless. Our elected officials on both sides of the aisle saw fit to keep our borders open, assist in the exodus of jobs, and overspend on wars, government programs and bailouts. We are sunk!

You will note how the whole world eagerly awaits the next offerings from Apple, Microsoft, Twitter and facebook. They have figured out that they can keep simple minds occupied with trivial games and nonsense so that bigger deals can be made behind closed doors. An entire generation + has been convinced that without unlimited access to porn and games that life has no meaning. Text, text we must all text.................

I still don't understand how texting is superior to the spoken word, subtle emotions are lost same as when we post here. The marketing folks have done a great job of convincing us that we need all the electronics and features they offer. I would like to think there is a small revolution away from such mindless technology back towards the real world, nature, exercise, the arts. On the subject of porn, there is something to be learned. Years ago I used to check out the beautiful women in Playboy, and watch an occassional adult film. The Internet has offered an almost unlimited amount of porn as you mention and I am curious as to it's evolution. I think it may burn itself out at some point. With the exception of child pornography, there is little restricting the industry and I think or hope it will run out of material for the curious. There is more than enough adult material in existence that there is nothing to be gained. Sadly our society has moved far from the spirit and work ethic of the people who made America great. There is still a lot of work to be done, maybe more than ever but able bodied folks are drugged by electronics. How far would the pioneers have gotten if they had the Internet, twitter, facebook, flat screens, and electronic games?

Texting and blogging allow folks to say things to people that they would never say to their face and I am guilty of having done so myself. Had my wife not pointed out that character flaw to me, I would probably continue to do so in fact and lately I try very hard to be civil and respectful even when it is hard to do. Texting, blogging and such allow us to insulate ourselves from others and give us the belief that we are entitled and superior in our views and opinions.

At times forums such as these are no better.

It is so easy to slip into the role you describe, and then it carries over into your behavior with others face-to-face. People interrupt you when you are talking like they are typing back a response in a text message, and thinking that its OK to do so. They don't finish thoughts or uses punctuation in more formal correspondence such as company emails, they write like they talk or text. A very poor face to put forward for ones self or the company you work for. But most care, if they even realize what it is they are doing.

One set of table manners has always worked for me. I try to do the same when texting or sending emails, and yes here on the forums too though I know I slip up more than I would like to.

Bob, I'm not perfect either but I try to imagine myself face to face with someone who can rip my head off. I find by doing this I have better manners on the phone, Internet and so forth. Treat everyone with respect, until they cross the line. OOPs
