  • Whirlfool charges $95.10 for a 10x11-5/8s-inch grea$e filter.

These Whirlfool filters have a small knob which turns a pawl 90 degrees into slot which holds the filter in place.
I told the woman thathey appear very poorly engineered withe pawls too thin (about 1mm thick) and they appear to be made of pot metal.

Cleaning the filters,he broke a pawl.

Fortunately, I found a way that she can insertwo small Allen wrenches (L) through the filter and push the long ends coming outhe opening where the pawl was and inserting into the bracket slot.

Why so much for these Whirlfool grea$e filter$?
I'd take an educated guess - but I'm unqualified.

take it to a transmission Shop, have them put it in their parts washer. Or clean it Yourself.

I cleaned it without having to burn gasoline and make pollution.
I used a strong solution of dishsoap in water.

She wants to keep all three filters the same.
If not for my fix, I would get others from WalMart and make them fit.

Amazing thathe imbeciles made the pawlso thin, and out of cheap, weak potmetal.
