      Re: Freedom of Speach?

I believe this Forum welcomes Free Speech but within the limits of good taste. I have been allowed to post things that I know are not in agreement with the moderators, so they are open minded. They do not permit off color language, insults, threats and such things. I don't know exactly what you are talking about so explain. Frank

Freedom of speech ends where private property rights begin. This forum is owned and moderated by Ridgid, it has every right to allow or disallow any thing they chose at their discretion. It is their property, their rules, like it or not. If you posted something that was deleted due to language, I suggest you think about how you talk in public and on forums. If your looking for help, being vulgar and rude will get nowhere here or anywhere. It's one thing to be upset and frustrated, its another to be bilgerant and an ***. You will get more help with honey rather than vinegar.

Your post was moderated by the forum software which meant a moderator had to approve it before it was viewable. I'm guessing it was because you are a new member and the post was very long. I was gone for 4-hours to attend my granddaughters birthday part. That is the only reason your post was not approved sooner.

The last 3 times I posted it said that the post had to be approved by a moderator.None of the posts came up on the forum, they were not vulgar ,inflamatory or bad in any way.One was about small power washers and I tried again without the brand name, still no show. The last post was about how much I like Ridgid drum machines, they are the best in my book!!

In the last ten years of online posting, I have concluded long ago that Forum Nazies have moderated EVERY vBB that ever existed. Look no further than gaming forums.

I have belong to a ton of message boards (way too many to count) since the existence of the internet, and this forum was the first on ever closing a thread of mine because it got carried away. But with that said, this forum is very lenient compared to others, as we have a good group of people here regardless of different opinions.

The new SPAM software is some what over reactive. It was installed because we were getting slammed with porn from Russia and SPAM from China and India. I went back and approved all of your post so they should be visible now. I believe I am the on ly moderator who actually participates on the forum so when I go out of town there is no one to approve posts. I believe it is only a problem for new posters. When this happens, please send me a PM along with where you posted and I will look for it to approve it.

                    Re: Freedom of Speach?

compared to many this forum is very open and seldom is a post blocked or edited, unless it is just a pure spam post,

There is a Dewalt users group forum that tried to start, (it is still in existence), but I posted my opinion on a Dewalt tool, basically saying it was good but could be a lot better, it was deleted for the "protection" of the Dewalt brand,

Ridgid does not go back in and delete or modify the negative of unhappy users, or if they say some model sucks or has a problem it is here to read about,
now if personal insults are used that may be edited.

In my experience with maybe a hundred or so forums over the years Mark ToUtahNow is one of the most fair and genuine moderators around. I doubt anything that wasn't inappropriate was over-moderated. Have faith and keep posting, I would bet that you will find the same.

May all of you folks have a fine New Years and a prosperous 2012.

                        Right.
Censorship on a privately owned forum is on par with the extermination of six million innocents.
