Converting my GenEye CRT monitor(sansui vhs recorder) into an LCD/DVD recorder combo?

Does anyone have any suggestions (beside buy a Ridgid) ?

Possible recommendations of LCD/DVD recorder combos that would fit in a 14x12x11 space that they geneye box allows?
