Oh Rick, she is the perfect cuddle and tickle size! I miss having my daughters at that age, and close to me. Nice to see you include her on trips to Home Depot, she will grow up knowing there's more to shopping than toys and clothes. Don't miss a moment. Frank

                    Hi Rick,

Phoebe sure is a cutie pie! Is it the pic, my eyes, or are her eye's the teensiest bit cross eyed?

My granddaughter Soleil starts kindergarten tomorrow. It's a very sad day for my wife and I because now we're going to see alot less of her. (my wife provides care for the grandkids when the kids are working or on vacation, or going out with friends, or going to concerts, or going shopping, etc. ). I'm taking the morning off so I can see her get on her first school bus tomorrow AM. Kids growing up too fast is a sad reality. My parting gift tonight from Soleil was a very wet kiss, a pair of sticky hands wiped all over my face, and she "tooted" on me. All the sweetness a grandchild can share with grampa.

Thankfully we'll still have two grandkids here daily, and a new one coming in October.

we actually took her to a specialist about a year ago to check. seems to be when we take a photo that it stands out. the doctors who specialize in this with kids explained it like this. her nose is still wide by the eyes and that it's an optical illusion. pseudostrabismus is the actual medical term, but they were confident that she will grow out of it.

Hey Rick I know you dont need this but who really cares. You and the real boss have been blessed with a beautiful little person who is waiting and learning and will eventually grow up to be as pretty and smarter than she already is. I didnt say this but I constantly repeat the words of a very smart bloke in America who always signs off on the secong last line of his newsletters, "HUG YOUR KIDS". Maybe we should all take a step back and ask when we actually did this last. Be good to your kids now becasue they are going to make decisions that affect our future one day...............!!!!!!!!

Rick, I'm very glad to read your post! Crossed eyes can be corrected, but if the experience of an employee I had a decade back is any guide the "fix" is painful. He claims it was so painful that he passed out at one of the "adjustment" appointments. It's good your Phoebe won't have to deal with that in the future.

Well... we're leaving to go watch our granddaughter get on the school bus for the very 1st time. Happy and sad.

I did not pick up on what Geno saw, but I would like to say that the advancements made in medical treatments over a ten year period can be great. We should not avoid getting consultations and second opinons regarding procedures, and treatments leading to better health.
I had many abdominal surgeries as a child, and a couple when I was in my late 20's. Everything about those procedures was crude by today's standards. Later in life I lived with a hernia for several years because I feared the outcome would leave me with more internal problems. I finally consulted with a good surgeon and was amazed by the resulting surgery. No more hernia, no complications, no limitations. I strongly recommend talking to a specialist if you have medical concerns and understand that advancements are constantly being made which might be of help. Frank
