  • A lesson in drinking and driving

I would like to share an experience with you, about drinking and driving.

As you well know, some of us have been known to have an occasional
brush with the authorities on our way home from various social

A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends
at the Marriott Hotel and had a few too many beers and some rather
    nice red wine.

Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did
something I've never done before: I took a bus home.

Sure enough there was a police road block on my route home, but as it
was a bus, they waved it past.

I arrived home safely without incident, which was a real surprise as I
have never driven a bus before and am not sure where I got it.

Seriously though please don't drink and drive, stay safe.

Very responsible. The amount of taxi fare is worth avoiding a DUI at best case scenario and killing someone at worst case scenario.
        Buy cheap, buy twice.

I'm sure one time or another we all drove home with one eye open while intoxicated.

As I've gotten older, I would of done the same thing you did Iron. Good for you!

Another sensible thread to remind us all. Everyday here we are waking to a new and better, or should I say worse, example of absolute lunacy. This morning 5 "Boys" launched car down 15mtr drop-off ending up on main rail track. 4 critical 1 serious. Police are investigating whether speed, alcohol and/or drugs could be involved. God help sensibility. No respect for themselves, absolutely no respect for anyone else.

A friend of mine sent it to me. I hope you all know it wasn't me who took the bus. I do like going out occasionally but these days I don't drive. I walk or get a ride, it's just not worth it. I mostly have my drink at home, it's more comfortable anyway.
Posted it just as a reminder to not drink and drive this holiday season. Got all your shopping done?
