  • What should we do if we go over the fiscal cliff?

I know one thing that SHOULD happen if we go over the cliff,
and that is to vote out EVERYONE who had anything to do with
us getting to this point, and to me that means every swinging
d!ck in the Senate and House, the President, the Vice President,
and maybe even on down into the state government level, but
the hogs at the top need to go to the slaughter house (recalled
or voted out), they are done feeding on us.

We need to turn this government back around and remind those
hogs in Washington that they work for us, not the other way around.
To get the point across and send the message home they ALL need to
be removed from office either by recall or voted out.

I started a new thread to keep Bob's discussion about how going over
the cliff will affect the average taxpayer clear of politics.

My comments here are not directed at any one party, they are equally
to blame in my book and this feud needs to be stopped.

Bob you are an extemely brave man, Congratulations I applaud you.

Your sentiments are reflected in many other countries least of all down here. Unlike you I intend to amke a statement about our mob and hope it gets legs. Our useless Red-Headed waste of space stabbed the elected member in the back and took over the high chair. The going gets tough so what does she do. She crys like a baby that because she is female we males are all masogynists and dont respect her or the other females in her cabinet. She has wasted so much time deflecting relevant issues stirring up the "burn the bra mob" instead of getting on with getting this great country moving. I personally think they are all tainted goods. They all lie and cheat. They all feed us BS and think we respect them.
Unfortunately I think there is a conspiracy whereby parties dont want this to change. just like a Casino, there has to be many losers(us the general public true-believers) so that there can be a few winners(greedy bastards that start and promote wars and other and are not us) who prosper. We will always be conned by leaders unless we have a dictatorship and none of us really want this do we or ...............................????

Also Bob I agree, nothing personal towards anyone here, we all must take a stand and make our leaders work for us.

No Bob this dosen`t just effect the US it effect the world and will send us all into another depression and I think it is delibrate as someone is going to make money 16 trillion dollars where has all that money gone someone must have it, it hasen`t just disappeared.
Just take the average person who takes out a loan they have to pay it back and this is what the US has to do and the only way is to raise taxes and cut the hell out out of everything and it may take one or two generations but it has to be done and your government knows this so why are they bickering and not putting the country as a whole first but i suppose our democracies are really a fraud and have had their day

Boy Jim, a term I haven't heard since Lakehurst, NJ some 45 years ago, PLF. Wonder how many know it.

Probably about as many that know what Lakehurst is famous for.
There's a few former 'troopers lurking around the forum.
I also did a tour in the land of bad things.
            Thanks for your service.

Why do you say No, it doesn't affect just the US? When did I say that it did?

Unfortunately for the rest of the world it is up to us (as in USA) what we do about OUR financial problems.
It may affect you, but I can't make decisions based on how it impacts you. By that I mean I'm to paying
taxes to support you, I pay them to support my government. I do care what happens in the rest of the world.
I'm just not going to go broke paying for the rest of the world.

You are welcome to come here and become a US citizen if you don't like the way we handle our affairs.
Then you can be part of the solution, or problem, depending on where you are standing at the time.

So you want the US to pay back its loans. How many countries still owe us from over 60 years ago? I don't know,
maybe not that many because we forgave the debts when our economy was doing much better. Maybe we should
have asked for payment of those loans and we would be in a better position now. But I guess we were looking out
for everybody (globally) and not just the USA. Maybe we should have put the country first as you say.
Maybe if China paid us the $1T they have owed us since the early 1900s we wouldn't be so bad off.
