OBAMA HAS NOT FIGURED THIS OUT YET!! OR HAS HE AND IS HE INTENTIONALLY DOING WHAT HE IS DOING TO DESTROY US FROM WITHIN ?? An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all). After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on) These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment: 1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. 2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. 3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. 4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it! 5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I didn't write this, just copied and pasted.

Seen it many times and don't know if it's true.

I do think it accurately portrays human nature and end results though.

I have never seen Obama's socialism plan. Can you copy and paste it for me?

What I said wasn't an opinion. If you can cut and paste that whole document I'll riverdance on YouTube for you.

I beg to differ--ACA is a law, not a plan for socialism. In your opinion, it may be a plan, but in mine it is not. Where is his plan?

I'd say that 90%. Of those claiming Obama is a socialist have no clue what socialism is all about. I'd also say that 99% of folks over the age of 40 have been indoctrinated into believing that socialism is evil. In fact, socialism is no better or worse than the republic, democracy we hold so dear. Both ideologies are open to corruption from within. Many believe that this government we have created is immune to those things that have brought other governments and societies to ruin when if they were to take a close look at the curve, they would see that it has taken far less time for our government to succumb to corruption and corpulence than many other more traditional governing styles.

Here we are with another political thread and the usual suspects thanking eachother's posts. NHM gives his superior "opinions" and I chime in that our society is already doomed. Next! Oh, yeah we can't afford healthcare for all, we need full time good paying jobs for able bodied Americans, we cannot consume what the rest of the world makes and turn our economy around. Death panels will be mandatory if the healthcare law has any chance. A life boat with a max capacity of 20 cannot carry 40, in order to save the 20, 20 must die.

It is not an opinion that the document is too large to cut and paste.

People stubbornly refuse to have a sense of humor sometimes. I even tossed in riverdancing for fun. Everybody knows us rightwing religious conservative nuts can't riverdance. Please tell me your humor isn't limited to calling us "regressives" and giggling like a schoolgirl.

Re: How well does Socialism work (Simplified)

There is some truth to the first post. Don't know if it really has anything to do with Obama having a grand plan for Socialism though. Real socialism, as I understand it, takes a loooong time to institute and be sustained by consistent leadership during this time. We don't allow that in the U.S. 8 years and you're gone along with any kind of radical ideology you may be trying to institute.

I've said it before but all President's of the U.S. get too much credit and at the same time too much blame. Both probably unwarranted most of the time.

Obama has not came out with any kind of real deep thinking literary or controversial work of genius worth noting really. People that are against him for whatever reason try to pick things apart in his books that probably aren't there because heck, there's just not that much substance or originality there at all.

And remember too, he didn't sit at a desk in the Oval Office with a legal pad and draft the Affordable Care Act. He's not some delicate genius where this came from his mind. Several others put it together and he signed off on it. (No, I don't know their names but would like too.)

So anyone giving great credit to him, or probably any other president, for simply signing something into law is not too bright in my opinion.

And anyone giving great criticism to him, or any other president, for ideas that have failed is also not looking at the bigger picture.

Other people are putting things together for them to sign off on.

The one thing where I think criticism is justified is the signing of things that they don't have full understanding. With anything of significance, I would have no problem and would actually like to see a televised Congressional hearing where they would grill the President about their understanding before any movement forward on said law continued.

                        THAT would be fun.

                            The buck stops here.

                            Some understand it. Some don't.

When I sign my loan agreement I'm responsible for the content even though I didn't author it. You can get philosophical about it but passing the buck is cowardly regardless of which party does it.
