What do you folks think about the site redesign? Do you have any suggestions for improvements? Keep in mind that we'll be adjusting and correcting over the next few weeks. And make sure you look at the rest of the site before commenting, not just the Forum! I know how you are.

I'm with Andy on this one. I have not had any problems with it and, as a matter of fact, all pages seem to load more readily for me.

I like it, seemes to be well layed out, easy to navigate, and no broken links (so far). I have not had any problems.

My only comment is that it would be nice if the background color something other than pure white white. After a staring at the screen for a while, bright colors are a little tough on the eyes.

            Norm,
Posted elsewhere, but I'll summarize here:
Great job, looks good, but bring back the tool bar, and work on the harsh white background.

              Norm,
The old site was near perfect,I wouldn't have changed a thing. Now I know the old site wont return, but please bring back the old color scheme, it was easy on the eyes and nice to look at.

Very hard on the eyes. The old color scheme was very pleasant to veiw for long periods of time when searching for an old post full of info.

Been a few days since I had a chanch to stop in. I'm surprised it changed! I'm use to the old site, and seam a bit lost here. And looking into a computer screen 1/2 my work day, this is way too hard (on the eyes) to deal with.

I had seen some areas where orange text is displayed on a darker gray backround when reviewing details on some of the tools. Depending on the monitor and monitor settings, there is insufficient contrast between the text and background making the text very difficult to read. That happened to me. You might want to look at adjusting some colors to enhance contrast.

Count me in with those who loved the old color scheme (both the website and the tools). The new site negotiation is very good..much better than the old, but the orange and white must go...makes it much harder to read.

Add yet another user who does not like the color. That orange just doesn't do the eyes good.

Norm, if I enter from http://www.ridgid.com (as always), the link to the forum isn't particularly obvious. I click on "Exchange", which sounds to me like I bought the wrong model and want to swap it for a different one.

Then when I get to Exchange, there's a link for Ridgid Forum. When I click that, a new browser window opens with the forum in it. I didn't want a new browser window, I just wanted to go to the forum. Opening a new window is swell when I'm on a product page and want to see an enlarged picture or something, because I will usually want to return to the product page. In this case, "Forum" is more of an endpoint, there's not much else on the Exchange area anyway.

Otherwise, I think it's attractive. I don't know that I prefer white to black or vice versa, but I think it's a pretty nice, clean design.

Please get rid of the white background hard to read. My eyes can't handle it. Other than that it's OK.

I like the new site. Yes, the black background from the forums is easier on the eyes but I'm used to looking at white screens all day, except for the occassional Blue Screen (OT Comment - Blue Screens are not near as common as they used to be)
