Your planer did not come with the adapter to connect to your DC? I thought that all of the TP1300 came with it.

NO, it didn't come with the part.... just the long, narrow, built-in dust vent above the blades. I bought the planer from the Home Depot (go figure) about a year and a half ago.

The 4" is part of that adapter, I believe it is at the opposite end of the 2".

On one end of the unit is the 2" hose connector, I believe it is inset somewhat. I believe either that whole unit, the 2" connector, is removeable or the other end is removeable, and that is the 4" connector. I'm at the office right now and can't get to my unit, but the bottom line is that the plastic end on one end comes off and that is the 4" connector.

OK if you have the black dust port adapter that is held on by 3 thumb screws then you have all there is. One side is 2" and the other end is 4". Pull the plug out of the 4" side and stick it into the 2" side. Does this make since?

I have an extra dust port adapter I can give you. I bought it not realizing that the planer shipped with one (in most cases . If you want it let me know. I'll send it to you, and you can send me a check for the cost of shipping after you receive it. I would think that shipping would be less than $4.
