However, Its hard for me to choose between Lowe's and the HD.

The HD is closer but customer service is real crappy. The only guy in the entire store that knows anything and is willing to ever help anyone is handicapped with a walking stick and hard to understand, I think he probalby had a stroke or something.

Lowes has aabout the same level of service, but has a much better selection of hand tools and power tool accessories.

I guess its a toss up with me. It depends on what I am looking for.
Up here in Canada, we don't have the choice of Lowes (yet) or Amazon. Otherwise I'd be shopping at both. The only reason I visit HD is because of their strong sale promotions and the fact that they're the only ones that carry Ridgid tools.

None, but if I were to choose one form the list it would be Lowes. Home depot's selection seems to get worse all the time and the people at Lowes are always more friendly and more knowledgeable.

Also, the stores look a lot nicer.
These days I only go to HD as a last resort. Lowes gets my business.

My favorite store is any online shop that has the rock bottom cheapest price with cheap shipping!

I gotta say I like Graingers. Don't have to look at all the junk. Just open the catalg point at what I want have a cup of coffee and like magic its right there. Or phone in my order send the helper and get what I wanted. Or just have them send it direct to job. And their pricing has become more competative. Oh and for model trains Willis Hobbies

Re: What is your favorit toy store

My fav is HD if Rona has a sale with ridiculously low price. Then I go to HD and price match+beat it. Since they are lazy, they price match+beat it without checking if it's a sale price. Just bought a table saw (DW745 dewalt) for $220 there, normally they have it for $378.

I also found a couple of online authoized dealers in Ontario and deal with them directly.

I've stopped buying from big box stores because their prices is a massive rip-off, especially in canada. HD buys a Bosch table saw for ~$450 and sells for $629. Screw that. Bosch PS40 impact is $249.99, $119 online with $20 shipping.

For serious tools, I have to go with Woodcraft.

My is Big Lots/Odd Lots. They always seem to have tools from close out stores.

Hands down it's Lee Valley for hand tools and for power tools it's Home Depot or Home Hardware when they have what I need on sale.
