I have had my good and bad with HD but when i went in with my 18v paper weight they said there was nothing they could do. If you had suggested that i buy a new drill and then return the old one in it's box then i would say that is moraly wrong. But after this last week with the day after thanksgiving shoping and the run around I got and they gave my mom the same crap too. I'm all in favor of screwing over Home Despot or Whore Depot. If you know about a sale they will have like the $25 shopvacs be there in the first 5 to 10 minutes or you won't get anything. If you want proof you should look at the online auctions!

Welcome to capatalism at it's best, the home owner and workers get screwed, while someone else makes a killing off it.

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that you could also register for the LSA through the mail.

Well I observed a lady taking in a cordless drill(lowly B&D) not working to a Rona salesman.
The saleman told her that really the drill wasn't worth fixing he suggested she get it checked at a local B&D center, in all that basically if a cordless unit you could expect around 3 years of use.
If she bought a better quality unit you get maybe 5 years of use.
          Hmmm...
